Wishes, Dreams, and Memories

Laying motionless beside me, whispering in my ear
Yet when I roll to see your face, you fade and disappear
Promises and melodies, from your lips hang on the air
Love letters and poetry vanished, leave the paper bare

Smiles bright as starlight, evaporate at dawn
Lost within the fantasies, our daydreaming had drawn
In this house is still your scent, sweet as any flower
And each day my heartbeat calls, out your name every hour

In snowdrifts and in autumn, your harmony sings a breeze
Waiting alone for your return, chin rested upon my knees
Tears may never bring you back, yet they still roll down my cheeks
Rainstorms always lead to sunlight; the clouds can stay this week

In seven days, once again, my eyes will twinkle blue
Oceanic reflections, the waves remember you
But soon the hearth will burn, my heart will start anew
Wishes, dreams, and memories, waving their last adieus
