The birthday cake on the picture above must be cut into eight equally sized pieces.

How can the cake be cut into eight equal pieces with only 3 straight cuts?

vertically slice the cake in cross shape this will make four equal slices then horizontally cut the cake so you can have 8 equal slices of cake.

You are right madam inspire..slice first the middlle thickness of the cake horizontally to make it two.then go at the top and cut the cake in cross...result..we have 8 equal pieces of cake...wait., do you want juice para pantulak? Ahak bungakngak.

is it possible to cut into four first, two straight cuts/ (cross cut)
then make the two on top of the other two to make the one final straight cut....

or align the four cut cakes in line to make one final straight cut....

to make a total of 8 equal parts...

let me use ur two cuts mam...



from that four equal parts.. gently lift one part and put it on top of the other quarter part take note that it must align with the edges. (remember not to move the two quarters acroos each other it is our reference..)
the other quarter part next to the up-leveled quarter part must be put on top of the other quarter part noting the edges must coincide with the one below...

A letter + would be an illustration.imagine the opposite parts are empty that's the one we put on top of each quarter...

then i guess we can pass the cutting tool straigth..dividing it equally to 8 parts...

Firs cut the cake into 4 slices then make a top slice and bottom slices,thus turning the previous 4 slices into 8. Hirap icing n lng sakin admin keen, hak!
