My heart beats,
day-in and day-out.
My heart beats,
in a rhythm.
Everything seems alright,
but my heart secretly aches.

My heart aches for freedom
Freedom from this world
Freedom from pain
But I am imprisoned,
within the four walls of this house.

My heart aches to know the truth
Truth about people, about love, about God
The truth which is engulfed in so many lies.

My heart aches for love
A special someone,
to be there always.
A touch of comfort
But this love I will never know
for reasons unknown.

My heart aches
for so many things.
The pain and suffering is overwhelming
But I go on........................somehow.
