Stop and Listen

We’re always busy and forever on the go,

And we rarely put a halt on our verbal flow

‘Stop and Listen’ my intuition had to say

while walking beside a peaceful stream today.

‘Stop and Listen’ to the sound of a flying bird’s wings

and to the lullaby heard when a baby bird sings.

‘Stop and Listen’ to the soothing melodious flow

of a meadowbrook made of freshly melted snow.

‘Stop and Listen’ for wisdom being handed to you

and whether or not ‘what people say’ is even true.

Listen for unspoken thoughts and lessons they might teach.

Listen for the Truth, for it’s always in our reach.

Everyone stop and listen
Listen to your heart
Listen to the whispers of the morning
Give life a new start
Change the world around
By first learning who you are
The divine life of God within
Pure love the soul you are
Let no politician teach you different
Let no teacher or parent tell the same
And always kindly remind them
You are an embodiment of Love
And so are they.
