Adobe Photoshop Tutorial No.3 : Comic / Newspaper Effect

This is my modified version of the comic effect.

1.Adjust the size of the image to 1500x2000 or you may use the size of 1024x728. How? Just go to Image > Image Size, on the Pixel Dimension parameters insert the values width: 1500 and height: 2000.

2.Now start editing the image by desaturating it. Go to Image > Adjustments > Desaturate.


3.Then adjust the levels, go to Image > Adjustments > Levels.


Adjust it in a way that the image looks inked. Try to use the values: (refer on the snap image).


4.You might not get a good result by just adjusting the levels, to fix this, I've used two options (1) Go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Accented Edges.

Try to adjust the parameters to suit your desired result.


(2) Try the Cutout Filter. Go to Filter > Artistic > Cutout.

Adjust the parameters or try using the values: (refer to the snap image).


I've used the 2nd. Option.
Try this in one in your own pictures and make your own comic strip. Hehehe…
