prescription diets good for my dog?

Humans are assigned "prescription" diets for certain health conditions-they just often don't follow them. People with diabetes, heart disease, gout-all sorts of illnesses are advised to follow a specific diet.

I am not a fan of Hills, either, but, I used the s/d for my poodle's struvite crystals, and it DID work. She was on it for about a month. The vet wanted us to follow up with the c/d, but that I wouldn't do, and she's been fine since.
