this consist of a 2-1/2 gal.cylindrical copper tank containing 2 gals.of water and of a 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 ibs.of bicarbonate of soda.in the top of the tank is a bottle with porcelain stopper containing 4 ozs.of sulphuric acid.when extinguisher is turned upside down,the stopper falls out, allowing the acid to mix with the soda mixture. this creates a gas that forces the liquid out of the hose. the soda acid extinguisher must not be used on electrical or oil fires.this extinguisher must be discharged at annual inspection, recharged,and a tag attached showing the date of recharge.
