to correctly guess the crossed-out digit,take note that 5 digit numbers when multiply by nine will always result to a number whose digit's sum is divisible by nine (9,18,27,36 and 45).hence,the crossed -out number is obtained by subtracting,the number sent by your txtmate from the next higher multiple of 9.example;if the sum he sends is 17,it means he crossed out 1 (18 is the next higher multiple of 9, so 18-17=1) you can use the following table as guide to correctly guess the number crossed out.
