Cry of the Dove

High above the smoldering ash, the morning Dove looks on.
The carnage of a battle field in the early light of dawn.
The battle of the earlier day, raged long into the night.
While signs of armies once engaged, now hidden out of sight.
It was a battle both would claim, was waged for what was right.
It was a fight that both would say, was fought with righteous might.
This was a war of differences, in values and of men.
Both sides said they're way was right and neither one would bend.
Still the Morning Dove was heard to cry above the reddened plains.
"How different can these brothers be, when their blood stains all the same?"

Laying shattered, crushed, smuthered, it trys to move.
Both wings broken, beak crushed, eye missing, it mourns.
It lets the world have a taste of it's pain
with a hearth wrenching cry, it's crusted beak turns to ash.
No Longer snowy white, but blood red.
It's feathers ruffle in the breeze, then follow lazyly with the wind.
Falling apart peice by peice, almost about to give up.
A light snow falls covering the dieing dove.
Almost frozen, pain only slightly dulled, a shadow grows long
covering the dieing dove, and the snow starts to fade.
Fingers lift the naked dove, and start to glow.
Wings become fixed, beak grows back, eye back in socket.
Red feathers shoot out of the body, and the fingers stop glowing,
They toss the dove up, and into flight it soars.
The fingers fall to rest at sides. The angel
Spreads her own wings and takes off into flight.
Forever waiting for the next dove in trouble.

When the sun shines upon the dew covered grasses,
Remember me, my smiles,and gentle, loving caresses.
When the rain falls from the darkened clouded sky,
Remember me and the tears I did cry.
When lightening flashes through the dark nights,
Remember me, and how I searched for what was right.
When thunder rolls and rumbles through the air,
Remember me, and I will always be there.
When you see a rainbow arcing across the sky,
Remember me, and please do not cry.
When you see wondrous things such as waterfalls,
Remember me and how I always gave my all.
When you hear a child laugh in joy and glee,
Always, always remember me.
When you see someone that struggles to be recognized,
Remember me and how hard I always tried.
When you see two lovers walking hand in hand,
Remember me, as you travel across this land.
When you see a moon shining in the sky so bright,
Remember me, and my love for all that is right.
When you see the wonderful and fascinating things this world has to hold,
Remember me, as you grow old.
For all I have asked is remembrance and love.
For this is all I have ever dreamed of.
When you realize, what could have been,
What could have happened back then....
Just recall my words for that is how I wish it to be...
ALWAYS, ALWAYS.....REMEMBER ME.....
