I never knew a night so black light failed to follow in its tracks. I never knew a storm so gray it failed to have its clearing day. I never knew such bleak despair that there was not a rift somewhere. I never knew an hour so drear love could not fill it full of cheer!

Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.

Lord, thou madest us for thyself, and we can find no rest until we rest in thee.

Let us not go faster than God. It is our emptiness and our thirst that He needs, not our plenitude.

Each soul has a secret place, where none may enter in. Save it with God - to them alone what goeth on therein is known to God alone.
