If your phone is lost or stolen, contact your mobile phone company immediately to suspend your service. This will prevent unauthorized calls being made.

If you use security features like PIN numbers and code locks your mobile is more likely to be recovered in the event of theft. And you are less likely to have to pay for calls a thief might try and make! If you are unsure how to use these features your retailer will be happy to help.

Engraving your initials and drivers license number on both the phone and battery makes your mobile harder for a thief to sell.

this is a helpful information for Post-paid users. but for those Pre-paid users, the theif can easily change SIM card and successfully make calls, or change the battery (where you engraved your name and driver's licence) and sell the stolen phone, and maybe the buyer won't mind either.
the better idea and both users will benefit, is the security features, PIN and Code locks must be activated/turned on in your phone.

even if you've got your phones IME number and put lock code, there's still a software (i forgot the softwares name) that can unlock and reset your IME number although the IME number can't be changed

there's a software for that, you're right bro papa. can't remember the name also. because there are softwares that can reveal passwords even if it hides under asterisk ( * ), what more in revealing IMEIs'.

Here whts lost is lost. Only thing u can do is block ur sim n get one with same number after paying money. Coz no 1 wil return ur cell ph, neither service provider wil help u 2 get it back coz they say its against their policy...

Nice tips guys. Be careful. Those measures can only make theives life a bit harder but they can not stop them from selling your stolen mobile phones.
