The BotServ utility provides you with a channel bot that monitors your registered channel for floods, repeats, bolds, or anything which you set it to kick. It can even maintain a badwords list for you and kick/ban users who say words which are on this list.
ChanServ provides you with the ability to own channels. For those of you who can't set up an IRC server, this is an ideal way to meet with your friends. ChanServ provides many features which will assist you in the process of keeping your channel safe and secure.
bro papa i think they have the same functions which is to maintain orderliness in a chatroom. i'm not a mIRC user that's why i'm not familiar with this tools.but with what i've read about the Botserv, in my opinion, it will be a great help too for the Mig33 admins.
the admins can make codes to easily kick the bad kickers, flooders and slangers, because they can make a list of badwords that oftenly used by this bad guys. or just make a list of the multi-ids so when they enter a room the Botserv will recognize these ids and automatically kick their as*es.
i found a Botserv Assistance conversation with a user, this will help us know more about Botserv:
hope Mig33 management will study and review this program (Botserv).

i found a Botserv Assistance conversation with a user, this will help us know more about Botserv:
- Code:
Q: What exactly IS BotServ, and what can I do with it?
A: BotServ allows you to have a bot on your own channel. It has been created for users that can't host or configure a bot, or for use on networks that don't allow users' bot. Bots are robots that allow you to have more of an interaction in your channel. Some bots (called Eggdrops or Windrops, see Other Info for details) have a bunch of nifty toys and features. The Bots here are designed for helping you control how your channel behaves and interacts with other users.
Q: What Bot names do you currently have available?
A: Current Bot names are "Aeris", "HQ", "Janeway", "Jean-Luc", "Moose", "orion", "SegFault", "SheBot" and "Sisko".
Q: Ewww, I don't like those names. How can I request another bot name?
A: Currently, we're not planning on creating new bots. If we had more people and channels created and actively being used, we'll create more bots and then solicit ideas for new bot names. I'm sorry that we have to take this stance, but if we make a change on our servers, it has to benefit everyone, not just a group of people.
Q: Okay, so how do I get a current listing of all the bots you have available?
A: That's easy enough! Just type /msg botserv botlist.
Q: Not again! All of this long typing stuff makes me tired. Isn't there an lazier/easier way to do all that typing?
A: ::chuckles:: Yes there is, just don't go laughing your fool head off. You can use "/botserv" instead of typing "/msg botserv".
Q: Sounds good. Now, I've got my nickname registered and channel configured. How do I get one of those things in my room?
A: Type /msg botserv assign #channelname botname. Change #channelname to the name of your channel. Change botname to one of the available bot names (seen via the botlist command indicated above).
Q: Okay, got the bot in my room, now I want the bot to kick out people for various reasons. What should I type?
A: This one will be handled a bit differently:
"ttb" is "Times before a ban", meaning the number of times a user gets kicked before they get banned. This is optional and not required. Also, anything in CAPS is optional, as well.
/msg botserv kick bolds on/off ttb - Sets the bolds kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who use bold typing. Personal opinion: Not a good kick to have enabled.
/msg botserv kick badwords on/off ttb - Sets the bad words kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who say certain words on the channels.
/msg botserv kick caps on/off ttb MINIMUM PERCENTAGE - Sets the caps kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who are talking in CAPS. The bot kicks only if there are at least MINIMUM caps and they constitute at least PERCENT% of the total text line (if not given, it defaults to 10 characters and 25%).
/msg botserv kick colors on/off ttb - Sets the colors kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who use colors.
/msg botserv kick flood on/off ttb LINES SECONDS - Sets the flood kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who are flooding the channel using at least LINE lines in SECONDS seconds (if not given, it defaults to 6 lines in 10 seconds).
/msg botserv kick repeat on/off ttb NUMBER - Sets the repeat kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who are repeating themselves NUMBER times (if NUMBER is not given, it defaults to 3).
/msg botserv kick reverses on/off ttb - Sets the reverses kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who use reverses. Reverses are when the user changes the colors of their own text, the background becomes toe negative of it's own color, same with text.
/msg botserv kick underlines on/off ttb - Sets the underlines kicker on or off. When enabled, this option tells the bot to kick users who use underlines.
Q: How do I configure my room to keep the profanity out?
A: This question is actually answered under the SpeedGuides link above (check SG-Profanity for information).
Q: How do I configure my bot for different settings? In other words, I don't want the bot kicking someone on my access list, or I want to enable chat activated commands...
A: Again, this one's going to be handled for each syntax, read on for details.
/msg botserv set #channelname dontkickops on/off - Enables or disables ops protection mode on a channel. When it is enabled, ops won't be kicked by the bot even if they don't match the NOKICK level.
/msg botserv set #channelname dontkickvoices on/off - Enables or disables voices protection mode on a channel. When it is enabled, voices won't be kicked by the bot even if they don't match the NOKICK level.
/msg botserv set #channelname greet on/off - Enables or disables greet mode on a channel. When it is enabled, the bot will display greet messages of users joining the channel, provided they have enough access to the channel.
/msg botserv set #channelname symbiosis on/off - Enables or disables symbiosis mode on a channel. When it is enabled, the bot will do everything normally done by ChanServ on channels, such as MODEs, KICKs, and even the entry message.
/msg botserv set #channelname fantasy on/off - Enables or disables fantasy mode on a channel. When it is enabled, users will be able to use commands !op, !deop, !voice, !devoice, !kick, !kb, !unban, !seen on a channel (find how to use them; try with or without nick for each, and with a reason for some?).
Note that users wanting to use fantaisist commands MUST have enough level for both the FANTASIA and another level depending of the command if required (for example, to use !op, user must have enough access for the OPDEOP level).
Q: What's this stuff about these "!commands"? What does what?
A: !op and !deop will Op and Deop someone in the channel.
!voice and !devoice will give/take away the ability to speak in a moderated chat. For some people, it's a status symbol as well.
!kick <nickname> {reason} will kick someone out of the channel. If no reason is given, the bot places either your name or the bot's name in parenthesis.
!kb <nickname> {reason} will kick and ban someone out of the channel. A reason is not required for this. Don't abuse this one, you risk losing your frequent visitors.
!unban [nickname | hostmask] will unban someone that was previously banned.
!seen <nickname> will tell you the last time someone was seen on that channel.
hope Mig33 management will study and review this program (Botserv).

Re: Do you think mig33 need botserv program?
I cant imagine myself customizong my own bots and chatting with other's bots while we sleep. What do you think guys? We can concentrate with our jobs and let them interact in chatrooms, lol!
Re: Do you think mig33 need botserv program?
If mig33 have this feature in their system, then we can create own bot server. But its depend on mig33, did they allowed our server login to mig33 or not.
Yes bro papa, its like mirc.

hahaha...they (bots) will be our "mini-me"...you don't have to kick the target because the bots will do this for you. but this program also have its downside. because if we let the bots do the actions (kicking & banning) merchants will lose their business, because chatters' account will never be lessen, and the excitement of kicking will be gone. hmm..there's still some loopholes in this program which i think mig33 management have to consider and give some time to study. let's just wait and see...

Re: Do you think mig33 need botserv program?
Nothing can replace human touch No matter how clever the bots are, I still go for the old fashion way, the "dot dot"way.
Re: Do you think mig33 need botserv program?
If botserv program is starting, all mig33 rules about chatroom management must be changed too. Every chatroom must be have chatroom founder. And founder will be the one who have power to kick, banned , add/del operator chatroom. Believe me, when this program started, you all will very love it. Hope mig33 team will study this program more deeper. This is one of many program for server that i havent mention it yet. We started with botserv first.
Re: Do you think mig33 need botserv program?
Have you heared bout Yehba? thats what they are doing. The founder of the chatroom is automatically the room moderator
But personally, I like mig33 the way it is. As it is. Introducing such programs will change its character.

It's true... I solely agree with k-e-e-n that's correct in logical ways aside from that one botserv program ain't gonna show some positive outcome.
