DISCRETE REASONING PUZZLES

these puzzles require sharp,logical thingking can you solve them guys? three men stay at a hotel for the night.The innkeeper charges thirty dollars per room per night.The men rent one room,each pays ten dollars.The bellhop leads the men to their room.Later,the innkeeper discovers he has overcharged the men and ask the bellhop to return five dollar to them.On the way upstairs,the bellhop realizes that five dollars can't be evenly split among three men,so he decides to keep two dollars for himself and return one dollar to each man.At this point,the men have paid nine dollar to each,totalling 27.The bellhop has two,which adds up to 29.Where did the thirtieth dollar go?

on the contrary, how can the innkeeper overcharge the 3 guys if the cost of per room is $30 and the 3 guys give $10 each???

room cost = $30
3 person x $10 = $30

the mistake is in how the thirty dollars are accounted for.The two dollars that the bellhop has are part of the 27 the men have paid.A correct accounting of the money is that 27 dollars were paid and three dollars were not,totaling 30 dollar.(papa your answer is correct you have a prizes to me hehe).

Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them the bill is $30, payable in advance. So, they each pay the clerk $10 and go to their room. A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made an error and overcharged the trio by $5. He asks the bellhop to return $5 to the 3 friends who had just checked in. The bellhop sees this as an opportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would have a tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell them that the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to each of the friends. He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day! Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid $9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night. We know the bellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30 which was originally spent. Where did the other dollar go????

Logically yap 9x3 is 27$ plus
2$=29$ but it goes lyk these
25$ is d rent and 3$ were brought back to 3 men equally and 2$ wid d bellbhoy so 25$+3$+2$=30$

To look at it from the standpoint of the original $30.
Each man has $1. so $1 x 3 = $3 and The bellhop has $2 and The hotel clerk has $25. So the total am sure is 30$. Therefore, there's the missing dollars!

whahehe i dont know too!!! but i try it, cos im passing in math 75% lol!

$30 ----- 3mens that they paid to the motel!!! return $5.

$25 ----- paid by the motel
$ 3 ----- return to 3 mens
$ 2 ----- leftover by the bellshop to his hand
$30 ----- total

The three men paying up a total of $25+2=$27. That's $25 for the room plus the $2 leftover by the bellhop to his hand.... the $3 was already return... no missing dollar....
