Giving your boss a fair shake!

Interested in getting ahead in your job? The following guidelines can make a tremendous difference in what you accomplish at the end of the day.

Develope the habit of being on time. Arriving late sends the message, "you aren't as important as i am so you wait until i arrive".

When you get to work, go to work. Don't kill time by having breakfast on company time. If you must, grab a coffee and then, go to work.

Don't waste time. Time is money, and making the most of your time make sense any way you look at it.

Do it right the first time. If something needs to be done, do it just you would.

Practice teamwork. A chain is a only strong as its weakest link, and when you don't pull your own weight, you let the team down. Keep in mind your company's interest.

Develop a work ethic. Simple things like clean up your own mess, make it a practice not to borrow your neighbor's pencils, tools and so forth. Put things back where you found them--simple things which show consideration to other person.

Finish the job. As long as you are responsible for something, no one else is going to do it. If you don't know how, ask questions. Don't be embarassed to ask. Better to ask and find out than to bluff it and be found out.

Go to second mile, and the third and the fourth, if necessary to get the job done. I'm not saying addiction to your work, but i am saying, don't be a minimal person, striving to be the first to get out of the door and the last to work overtime. Person who really accomplish something in life are the ones who dedicate themselves to getting the job done -- not simply drawing a salary or doing enough to get from getting fired.
