Memory thoughts

Thoughts:

Not the power to remember, but its very opposite,
the power to forget, is a necessary condition for our existence.

The camera relieves us of the burden of memory.
It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us.
Yet no other god has been so cynical,
for the camera records in order to forget.

How strange are the tricks of memory, which, often hazy
a dream about the most important events of a man’s life,
religiously preserve the merest trifles.

A friend who cannot at a pinch remember a thing or two that never happened is as bad as one who does not know how to forget.

good will not forget you!it not because you are religious man.it because your name is written in heaven

The one who thinks over his experiences most, and weaves them into systematic relations with each other, will be the one with the best memory.
