Hi friends, Whats the meaning of number 33 behind mig name? Why should use 33? Did you guys ever though about it? Maybe one of you can answer my simple question:)

i've try researching a while ago but in their history and company profile..... they didn't include where did the MIG33 word come from and how did they come up with that name

I think Steven Goh and Mei Lin Ng knows really why no. 33 was added to the word "mig".

For Russian, "mig" is a military aircraft design bureau and "33" refers to the aircraft's maximum speed called "mach".

Maybe, mig33 team compares this to the speed of MiG33 fighter aircraft that goes up to mach2.35 which is equivalent to 2,500 km/h...

If we chat with mig33 user in Maldives (approx. 3,700 km away from KSA), we'll get each other's message in seconds depends on connection.
