Why do people smoke?

Smoking is the one of the most difficult addictions to break.Scientists estimate that cigarettes are more addictive than cocaine,heroin,or alcohol.According to the World Health Organization,smoke kill more people than any other disease in the world.With all this information readily available,why do people continue to smoke?

before, i consider smoking as a one way of relaxing till it becomes a habit. i've tried to quit way back year 2006. but since i still don't have the guts of quitting and influence of other people (silly personal reason), i just have to admit that i am a nicotine addict that can't have a day without smoking even a single stick. although i've minimize my cigarette consumption from 1 pack a day to 10 sticks a day

Most people start smoking when they are in their teens and are addicted by the time they reach adulthood.Some have treid to quit but have returned to cigarettes bacause smoking is such a strong addiction.It is a habit that is very difficult to break.There are many different reasons why people smoke.

Three of main reasons that young people smoke are to look mature,to be like their friends,and to experiment.Since teen see older people all around them smoking,especially their parents and relatives,they smoke to act older.If their friends or peers smoke,they may feel pressured into doing the same to be accepted.the last reason is the excitement of experimenting with something that is forbidden.

People use smoking as their habit,it's a habit that can't easily stop,it's too dangerous in everyönes health,

Some people have emotional problems which lead to self destructive behavior,I believe the majority of smokers with this attitude are not in this category.Most make these statements to hide their fears of not being able to give up smoking.

The smokers knew to themselves that it's dangerous for everybody's health but the meer fact of peer pressure can influenced them & sooner it became a habit that they can quit......

We must also know that not only the smoker risks his/her health but also the we so called "second hand smokers",they we're the people who inhales the smoke of the cigarette. It's more dangerous for the second hand smokers than that of the one who is smoking....

PLEASE Quit Smoking!!!
