Sad With Hope

Saddened by the truths placed before me
Something I am forced to see
Had it all but lost it to hesitation
Now left with only one obligation
To smile when it hurts the most
Feeling with out a purpose as a ghost
Angry at the decisions I have made
As the happy image of me slowly fades
But alas I shall not lose hope
No longer will I sit here and mope
Left alone with my thoughts
Nothing but pain it has brought
I must tilt my head to the sky
And wish those bad memories good bye
It has always been my shadow and me
Trying to cheer up those in need
But no one tried to cheer thee
For I am trapped in a shell
With so little to tell
Only goal was to spread smiles and a little joy
For inside I was the boy who lost his only toy
Wake up to the sun and birds signing
Happy to know it’s the small things that make life worth living
Hanging out with friends joking around
That is where happiness is found
Hope to find someone to share this with
So that love will cease to be a myth
Where a connection like no other is made
With nothing but smiles and memories to trade
I will awake with that hope in mind
Knowing there is someone special to find
